With the DAW closed and the M3 still plugged into Inputs 1+2, the Blackbird Control software channel sliders have no effect on the M3 volume level the Blackbird Control software channel Mute buttons have no effect either. Is this with DAW closed? It was with the DAW open. btw the M3 is controlling VSTIs just fine.Īny theories would be greatly appreciated! I have disabled all sound input and output devices in Win10 Sound Settings except for my Mackie Onyx Blackbird interface.
Panning does work as expected, so that's half the battle. If I engage the Mute button, I can't control the volume with the slider at all, which could be a hint.
It's like two sounds are playing, one controlled by the slider, and one that's not. The Aux Channel can't be zeroed by muting, either. Here's the problem: while the mixer's volume slider does control loudness to a certain extent, I can't get the volume to zero. I can't say I really understand what Aux Channels are and how they work, but one reason I was anxious to try them out is the promise that through them I'd finally be able to adjust volume and pan immediately after recording an internal sound on the M3 without being forced to commit to audio prematurely before I was sure I liked the take or the sound to hear how the new track sat in the mix. One reason I finally upgraded was the improved handling of External Instruments, in my case a Korg M3, via the mixer's new Aux Channels. I recently went from a Win7 PC and S1 v2 to a new Win10 PC and S1 v5. This one has me and the entire Studio One Community Forum stumped.
